About Rebecca R. Cohen

Rebecca is an attorney in the Immigration and Business Practice Groups. She practices business and family immigration law, with a focus on O-1 extraordinary ability artist and athlete visas, and EB-1 green card petitions. With a lifelong appreciation for the arts and athletics, and for the unique talents that foreign citizens contribute to American culture, she is passionate about helping her clients successfully navigate the visa process. She also concentrates her practice on dual citizenship matters. Rebecca developed additional experience in the areas of labor and employment law, and securities and antitrust class actions, while practicing at various New York City law firms.

Rebecca values developing a close working relationship with each of her clients, so that she can achieve favorable results on their behalf. She is a certified mediator, having mediated in New York civil court, public schools, and community mediation centers. She brings a collaborative, solution-focused approach to her law practice, and an ability to listen well and understand her clients’ interests and needs.

Rebecca earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University, and her law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Prior to joining Bousquet Holstein, Rebecca served as Associate Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She has also served as Deputy Director of Development for the Reach Out and Read National Center in Boston, and as an attorney at the Ottinger Firm PC in New York City.

Rebecca was born and raised in Syracuse, and returned after living in Providence, New York, and Boston. She cares deeply about her community, and was recently elected to serve a three year term on the Fayetteville-Manlius Board of Education, a school district where she attended school from grades K-12. She previously served on the board of the Jewish Community Center of Syracuse.

She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers’ Association (AILA), and an active member of the Central New York Women’s Bar Association.
