Florian was recommended to me by a friend of mine who used his service for some family law issues. I engaged Florian for my divorce settlement case which involved cross border asset settlement issues in the US Canada Hong Kong and Beijing. Florian was able to recover some money which my ex-wife “stole” from our joint account which has already been agreed as part of my settlement assets. When we our case reached a debt lock, instead of sitting on the account and enjoy the retainer fees which I agreed to pay, Florian recommended an arbitrator who came in and helped us reached a prompt settlement. Florian Bruno was recommended to me by an acquaintance to help with me with a long-term visa application to Germany. During our initial conversation, he suggested that he might be able to help me regain my citizenship and requested I send all the information I had gathered from the German Embassy in tedious negotations. This he wanted to help with a situation affecting his wife! He also asked that I submit any documentation related to my loss of citizenship--which I did promptly. After not hearing back from him for several weeks, I followed up and was told that his mother had been seriously ill. He suggested a telephone appointment the following week. I suggested a date that worked for me and have never heard back. The whole scenario not only strikes me as highly unprofessional, it also seems to me to be a case of grandstanding as Mr. Bruno is not an expert in the area as he professed to be.

Initially, Florian understood that my case needed to be expedited because I'm ill and suddenly unable to work. Unfortunately, he floundered around for six months and never filed my case. He lacks the basic skill and organization to complete a simple case filing even in half a year. Florian had trouble learning basic facts of my case, so he had to redo documents several times. He lost vital materials and repeatedly complained that his secretary failed to organize things. He set three "firm deadlines" for filing the case, and was unable to meet any of them. After the third, he abandoned my case - with no warning, without securing another attorney, without sending my file. I now have six months of debt that I would not have if Florian had simply filed in a reasonable time frame. And knowing that he failed to do the job for which he was hired, he insists on keeping the retainer. Florian Bruno is an incompetent attorney and an unethical man. Do yourself a favor and hire someone else.
