Hired Anthony for a will. During our virtual notary session, his associate was taking a long time slowly reading everything aloud, as if to a small child. I asked her to speed it up (I did reveal I was a bit offended, and probably mentioned my age). She did great (I said so), and we finished. She invited my partner to get his part notarized by them, too. Then Anthony sends a long, disturbing email accusing me of mistreating his staff (what?) and telling me they couldn’t help me finalize the will. I emailed back my questions, and never heard back. Now I don’t have a will—one that I paid for. 1) what are the ethics of this? 2) interesting his attorneys can’t speak up for themselves! 3) As a business owner, my policy is always to listen to the client’s views before plowing into any assumptions. Anthony’s behavior says that his firm can’t abide conflict or bluntness. PS I’m reviewing him by invitation. I keep getting their firm spam and thought I’d oblige :).
