I retained Jeffrey Lewis for a foreclosure real estate transaction. I had no experience in these matters so I relied on him to inform me of my financial responsibilities regarding the transaction. I was shocked when I received a delinquent tax bill for an entire year of property taxes that I did not own the property and found out I was responsible for it. He NEVER informed me that this would be my responsibility and that foreclosures are not prorated like a regular property sale. Now I will have another partial year to pay for also. All, in all, approx. $7,000. If I retain and pay an attorney for their expertise, I would expect that's what I would get. That was definitely not the case with this attorney. He also did not return calls in a timely manner, if at all.
