About Jacob Lederle

Jake Lederle is a partner at Wetsel & Lederle, LLP, with offices in Sweetwater and Lubbock, Texas, and is widely regarded as a leading attorney in renewable energy development and next-generation energy infrastructure. He advises landowners, developers, and investors on complex renewable energy, energy storage, data center, and cryptocurrency mining projects across Texas, the United States, and internationally.

Jake’s practice spans the full lifecycle of large-scale energy and infrastructure projects, from initial site control and development through financing, construction, and operations. He routinely handles high-value and high-complexity matters involving lease drafting and negotiation, land acquisition, title review and curative, project mergers and acquisitions, permitting, and project-related litigation. Clients rely on Jake not only for his deep technical knowledge, but also for his strategic, business-focused approach to project execution and risk management.

In addition to his renewable energy and infrastructure practice, Jake maintains a robust eminent domain and condemnation practice, representing landowners in significant energy, transmission, and infrastructure-related takings across Texas. His broader practice also includes advising clients on tax incentives & abatements, environmental and regulatory compliance, oil and gas matters, and sophisticated real estate transactions.

Jake is also an Adjunct Professor at Texas Tech University School of Law, where he teaches Energy Transactions, an upper-level course focused on renewable energy, energy storage, and oil and gas transactions.
