Saffell quoted a price, charged a retainer 3x the quoted price without authorization, and demanded additional funds or he would not show up for court. Not sure how he managed to make such a spectacle over a show cause hearing, should have been 2 billable hours at most. He would send a bill almost daily stating "reviewed documents" or "reviewed file". There was nothing to review! In short, my experience with saffell is not good, I would not recommend him in any circumstance. I have filed a complaint with the BAR, contested my credit charge he was not authorized to charge and considering pursuing legal claims against him due to his failures. There are much better choices in Traverse City. In short Jim is a thief.
