Hired Attorney James Saffell

Saffell quoted a price, charged a retainer 3x the quoted price without authorization, and demanded additional funds or he would not show up for court. Not sure how he managed to make such a spectacle over a show cause hearing, should have been 2 billable hours at most. He would send a bill almost daily stating "reviewed documents" or "reviewed file". There was nothing to review! In short, my experience with saffell is not good, I would not recommend him in any circumstance. I have filed a complaint with the BAR, contested my credit charge he was not authorized to charge and considering pursuing legal claims against him due to his failures. There are much better choices in Traverse City. In short Jim is a thief.

Hired Law Firm

Beware! Mr Saffell spent more time bankrupting me than he did in defending my case. This sub-par lawyer also lacks many other professional skills: - He failed to introduce an expert witness correctly - He did not form proper objections and was reprimanded by the judge for it - He did not know how to properly introduce certain evidence - He objected to motions but failed to research or provide any evidence to support the objection

All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database.
