After 10 years of a nasty divorce & custody battle, Lisa Batts and her firm took my case and have impressed me beyond words. I feel like they stepped in at the 11th hour, but they got up to speed and prepared more than I expected. With their help, I felt ready and informed. Lisa's counsel has proven wise, helped us avoid court a few times over smaller issues and when the big hearing finally happened, Lisa was incredible in court! I highly recommend this firm!
I just finished a long and arduous divorce and if it was not for L. Lisa Batts of The Stuart Law Group, I would have been forever sunk in the divorce precedings. Ms. Batts was always a step ahead of opposing counsel and found hidden assets that I did not know existed. She was fair in her assessment of the assets and advised quite accurately how the court would consider those assets. She was often the voice of reason when issues seemed to be skewed against me. The fees were fair and worth it!
Three months into my divorce proceedings, it was time to find a new attorney. On a friend's advice,I called the Stuart Law Group and I was surprised that I was actually able to sit with Lisa that afternoon. She and her staff have been more than courteous and well-prepared, but also available to actual answer any and all of my questions. Just finished our Temp Relief hearing, and am feeling good abut the outcome, including being able to spend time with my son, who was previously being withheld.
Hiring Lisa Batts to handle my divorce was one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made. She came highly recommended—but what I got was a lazy, dishonest, and predatory attorney who exploited me at one of the most difficult times in my life. She promised that my case was simple and would be resolved through mediation. I was told the $5,000 retainer would easily cover everything unless it went to trial. Not only was this completely false, but she also failed to represent me with even the most basic competence. Communication was inconsistent. Deadlines were missed. Strategy? Nonexistent. She didn’t advocate for me—she coasted through my case and left it unfinished. Then comes the most egregious part: After she TERMINATED our attorney-client relationship, she had the audacity to SUE me in small claims court for more money. This is AFTER she already overbilled me and provided little to no value for the thousands she already collected. Her invoices were padded with unauthorized charges.
