Jane Roach Maughan

Jane Maughan is a tough, ethical, honest, caring, no nonsense, brilliant, relentless, hard working attorney whom I highly recommend to anyone in Monroe county and the state of PA . She won one of the hardest civil cases you can imagine. This case was in the local newspaper and TV news for months. She was super thorough and sharp as a razor in court. This was not her only high visibility case she won. You want results, Jane is your attorney of choice.

Jane was exceptional in handling a very long, drawn out and messy divorce. She always responded in a timely manner and made excellent suggestions that ended up being very successful in my divorce proceedings. I have recommended her to several people and will continue to do so.

Jane is definitely someone you want in your corner when going through a difficult divorce and/or child custody dispute. I highly recommend her services.

Ms. Maughan's treatment of an extremely complicated divorce, involving guardianship of an incapacitated adult and grand-parental rights was first rate. She is well-spoken and direct and extremely knowledgeable.

My (then) husband and I hired Attorney Maughan to mediate our divorce settlement. The mediation was successful and we avoided court, in large part because of Attorney Maughan's knowledge and experience with divorce court. Knowing what a master might be likely to decide in court helped us make compromises. Attorney Maughan was also very careful to stay neutral. She demonstrated patience but worked to move us along. Her communications were clear & concise. She is also personable & empathetic.

As a new client you feel very unimportant. Jane's firm is very difficult to communicate with essentially relying upon directing you to email and or their website. When attempting to retain her services via emails, or form submissions on her website...they go unintended without a timely response. This caused delays in responding to court related to divorce matters.

I would not recommend this attorney. She is very curt and was condescending throughout the entire process. Overexplaining the simplest of concepts, in my opinion to build hours. Promising to do things for you and then disappearing for weeks sometimes months on end. My divorce was settled after more than two years. Communication was poor and she was unresponsive to my calls and emails. Finally, when I requested for her to contact me(three times in two weeks) regarding work she did not complete as promised, she dropped me. Siting "disrespectful treatment." I did say she was acting unprofessional and I stand by that. It's her way or the highway. Overall, my experience with this attorney was quite negative and I would not recommend her to anyone going through a divorce.
