James is an attorney in the Business and Real Estate Transactions Department. A graduate of St. John’s University – Staten Island Campus, he began his legal career in college interning for Marvel Entertainment LLC in their legal department. After obtaining his undergraduate degree, James began law school at St. John’s University School of Law. He continued to intern for Marvel during law school, where he also interned for the New York State Supreme Court and the Queens County District Attorney’s Office.
He joined the firm in 2016 prior to graduating law school, and immediately began full-time after taking the bar exam. He was admitted to practice in New York in 2016 and in New Jersey in 2018. James left the firm briefly to practice in lower Manhattan at the law firm of Tane Waterman & Wurtzel, P.C., where his representation focused primarily on advising condominium and coop boards. In December of 2021, he rejoined the firm. His practice focuses primarily on real estate transactions and business/corporate transactions, formations, and advisement.
James previously served as a board member the Staten Island Business Outreach Center. He currently serves on the Board of the Young Professionals Group of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce. In May of 2021, he was elected to and sworn in as a member of the Board of Directors of the Richmond County Bar Association. He is politically active, and formerly served as Legal Counsel and President of the Staten Island Young Republican Club. He is currently the Law Chairman of the New York Young Republican Club. He also sits on Staten Island Community Board 1.
James is the founder and President of Comics For Courage, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that donates comic books to children in need. He enjoys performing in community theatre and collecting and reading used books.
