Hiring Jason Pelt was a huge mistake. After we paid him in full, we received almost no communication for two months — no updates, no progress, and he missed court hearings without notice, sending an associate in his place with no explanation. This case involved a serious mental health crisis, yet Jason completely ignored all of the medical records we provided. He never contacted Casey’s doctors, never requested professional statements, and — worst of all — never discussed or developed any legal strategy with us. We were left devastated, unheard, and ultimately pressured into accepting a felony plea for a “written threat to kill,” despite Casey having no history of violence and no intent behind the messages, which were sent during a manic episode. Jason gave the prosecutor everything he asked for. His only comment to us was, “I’m surprised there’s no probation,” as if the felony conviction was no big deal. He was rude, dismissive, unprepared, and unprofessional.
