About Aubrey Dicus, Jr.

Aubrey Dicus, Jr. is Past President and CEO of Battaglia, Ross, Dicus & McQuaid, P.A. Aubrey has over 40 years of litigation experience. Upon graduation from Emory University with a degree in Economics, Mr. Dicus attended Stetson Law School from 1971-1974. He joined partners Anthony S. Battaglia and Howard P. Ross in 1974.

Aubrey’s litigation experience of over 40 years has been multifaceted. His personal injury practice involves automobile and truck accident cases, products liability and significant medical malpractice claims. His criminal litigation has involved everything from capital murder cases to substantial white-collar crime representation. His civil litigation cases have involved complex commercial contract litigation, extensive probate and estate litigation and class action anti-trust matters from both Plaintiff and Defense perspectives. His commercial litigation has involved successful multi-million dollar claims. Aubrey has represented government agencies, including the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Department and municipalities in government related litigation.

Aubrey has been selected by Woodward and White Publication’s “Best Lawyers in America” in the area of Personal Injury for both Plaintiff and Defendants. He has been named as a Florida Super Lawyer for several years and maintains a Martindale-Hubbell AV preeminent highest rating.

Mr. Dicus is highly respected in the legal community and has served the local Bar in several capacities. Mr. Dicus is a past President of the St. Petersburg Bar Association. He has been President of the Pinellas County Criminal Defense Lawyers’ Association. He served as a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Mr. Dicus was selected and served as Master of the Bench with the American Inns of Court, Pinellas County Chapter, and Barney Masterson Inn of Court. He received “The Barney” for his professionalism, civility, ethics and legal excellence. Mr. Dicus was also selected and served as Master of the Bench American Inn of Court, the Hillsborough County Chapter, Goldberg Inn of Court. He remains a sustaining member of both Inns.

Mr. Dicus was also awarded the Professionalism Award by the St. Pete Bar Association, which recognizes an attorney’s exceptional dedication to the standards of the profession, and recognizes one who has demonstrated integrity and humanitarian concern within the community. Mr. Dicus was awarded the 2007 Stetson President’s Award. He has served on the Stetson Law School Advisory Council and as President of the Stetson Lawyers Association.

Aside from his services in the legal community he has been active and serves the Tampa Bay Community at Large. He is an active member in the Tampa Bay Community and has served in the Chamber of Commerce. He was appointed by the Governor of the State of Florida as the Governor’s Representative on the Community Development Corporation, Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. He also served on the Pinellas Emergency Mental Health Services Advisory Board and Finance Committee.
