Paul J. Gatto is a founding partner of Swor & Gatto, P.A., a St. Paul personal injury firm he established with Michael Swor in 1981. Since founding the firm, Mr. Gatto has limited his practice exclusively to personal injury, representing injured individuals against the parties and insurers responsible for their harm.
Mr. Gatto has practiced personal injury law for more than 50 years. Prior to 1981, he gained extensive trial experience as both a criminal defense and personal injury trial lawyer, trying numerous matters before civil and criminal juries. Over the course of his career, he has litigated more than 10,000 cases that were successfully resolved prior to trial.
Before entering the practice of law, Mr. Gatto was employed by a nationally recognized insurance company, where he studied the policies, procedures, and business structure of the insurance industry. That background continues to inform his approach to negotiations with insurance representatives and defense counsel.
Mr. Gatto founded the firm on a principle that still defines its work: the exclusive representation of injured victims. He maintains his practice in St. Paul, Minnesota.
