Harper & Peterson, P.L.L.C. represents people involved in personal injury cases throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin and the United States. William Harper, a nationally recognized Certified Trial Specialist, is certified by the Minnesota State Bar Association, as a Civil Trial Specialist and also has been named a Minnesota "Super Lawyer" in each year of the survey. He has been recognized as a "Leading Attorney" in Minnesota by American Research Corporation. Paul Peterson has been named a "Rising Star" and since 1999 a Minnesota "Super Lawyer" by Minnesota Law and Politics Magazine. Paul is Certified by the Minnesota State Bar Association as a "Civil Trial Specialist." Both William Harper and Paul Peterson were named Top 100 SuperLawyers in 2007.

The Firm tried numerous cases to a successful conclusion on behalf of injured people. It has handled numerous cases with verdicts or settlements in excess of one million dollars. We have experience in class action litigation and Bill served as one of the lead counsel in a class action suit in Duluth, Minnesota, resulting from the train derailment of a benzene tanker that ended in a $2.6 million dollar class settlement and numerous individual settlements.

Paul is the best at what he does. He pays attention to his client's needs and concerns. When he says he will hold wrongdoers responsible, he really means it and he will. He has a great sense of humor and is the best lawyer in town.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.

• Distinguished: An excellent rating for a lawyer with some experience. This rating indicates the attorney is widely respected by their peers for high professional achievement and ethical standards.

• Notable: This rating indicates that the lawyer has been recognized by a large number of their peers for strong ethical standards.

Lawyers who have received peer reviews after 2009 will display more detailed information, including practice areas, summary ratings, detailed numeric ratings and written feedback (if available). Details for individual reviews received before 2009 are not displayed.
