Jared is an associate in the firm’s St. Louis office, where he passionately defends transportation companies, including railroad and trucking, insurance, and other private and public entities in both federal and state courts. He represents clients in employment law matters, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), and before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Missouri Commission on Human Rights, while also defending whistleblower cases brought under the Federal Railroad Safety Act.
Jared relentlessly pursues the best outcomes for his clients, successfully defending numerous general, product, and premises liability cases; obtaining summary judgment in favor of utility companies against discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims in federal court; and defending and prosecuting discrimination cases filed with the EEOC. He has also successfully defended a major transportation company and obtained a jury verdict in its favor in a toxic tort case.
Jared proudly serves and defends mom and pop shops as well as leading national corporations throughout Missouri, Illinois, and New York. Outside of the courtroom, he conducts third-party investigations of internal Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) complaints filed by employees of school districts, cities, and municipalities across the country.
Before joining the firm, Jared served as an Assistant District Attorney in Queens County, New York, where he prosecuted a wide range of misdemeanor and felony cases. As an ADA in the Special Proceedings Bureau, Jared led long-term investigations into and prosecuted serious felonies including human trafficking, animal cruelty, Department of Buildings fraud, pattern burglaries, and hate crimes.
Jared proudly served as the Black Law Student Association Executive Board’s Academic Chair during law school and was a member of the Missouri Law Review Editorial Board. During his law school internship at the Missouri Department of Labor & Industrial Relations, he successfully defended the Commission before the Missouri Court of Appeals Western District. Jared double majored in Political Science and History at Illinois State University.
Jared spends his time outside of the office running, gardening, and enjoying time with his wife and son.
