I had a horrible experience with Mat Eilerts who was the court appointed GAL in my modification case. It was fairly obvious that he was too busy with his own retainer client cases to be taking on GAL cases. He missed several court appearances, depositions, etc because of his busy schedule. He did not take the time to review my case and the only time we heard from him was when he was ordering everyone to go to counseling or wanted to be paid more money.
