Hughes, Thompson, Randall & Mellen, PC is a full service law firm committed to bringing the highest level of legal services to our clients. Established in 1994, and located in the historical district of downtown St. George, we provide services to a variety of clients. Our clients include individuals, partnerships, estates, and business entities. We also work in conjunction with Prepaid Legal Plans, Hyatt Legal Plans, AARP and Legal Access.

Hughes, Thompson, Randall & Mellen, PC offers a wide range of legal services. We have confidence and expertise in the areas of real estate, corporations, estates, probate, civil and domestic issues, and adoptions. Our attorneys are continually striving to further their legal education and remain up to date on new developments in the law. All of our attorneys are licensed in Utah, with the exception of one, being licensed in Nevada.

Our firm has set standards to not only be precise and provide quality services, but to maintain long-term, partnering relationships with our clients. We take pride in providing quality and cost effective legal services and always place our clients and their needs first.

Hired Attorney Rick C. Mellen

I wish I could have rated him a 10 on a scale of 1-5. Rick is an honest and caring individual. My ex is particularly volatile and Rick's advice minimized the amount of stress and conflict in my life not only during the case, but has continued to for months after. He gave advice that kept me out of court and undoubtedly reduced his fees. I am so grateful for his honest and caring approach. I have referred him to many friends and will continue to do so.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.

Lawyers who have received peer reviews after 2009 will display more detailed information, including practice areas, summary ratings, detailed numeric ratings and written feedback (if available). Details for individual reviews received before 2009 are not displayed.

Attorneys that receive reviews from their peers, but not a sufficient number to establish a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating, will have those reviews display on our websites.
