Hired Attorney

Unfortunately after retaining Mr. Carden for my post divorce case back in December of 2024, still to this day he has failed to file the petition. After countless attempts to reach him with very little response other than excuses back, I finally filed a complaint with the TN Board. After that filing, Mr. Carden sent me a 6 page fine print letter calling me a liar, calling my character into question, cussing, and so on - telling me that I needed to tell the board I was lying & drop the case. He has been incredibly unprofessional in many instances & still to this day has not filed the petition. I do not feel comfortable being represented by him any longer & he has refused to give any portion of my retainer back so I can hire another attorney. He has cost me 10’s of thousands of dollars by dragging this case out for almost a year now, when I needed it to be done very quickly for my family’s sake. The board also told me that he has been publicly censured now twice. Do not recommend.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.

• Distinguished: An excellent rating for a lawyer with some experience. This rating indicates the attorney is widely respected by their peers for high professional achievement and ethical standards.

• Notable: This rating indicates that the lawyer has been recognized by a large number of their peers for strong ethical standards.
