About James Jason Coatney

Jason has been a life-long resident of Southwest Missouri. Jason is number 6 of 7 children raised by a school teacher and truck driver. Jason began working on the family farm at the age of 8 years old which established a strong work ethic. Prior to seeking an education in history and law, Jason traveled the county working on a steel crew in the construction industry. Such a diverse background provides him with a unique perspective.

Jason began his legal career at a local firm and then became Real Estate Counsel to American Freightways, Inc., the predecessor to FedEX Freight. At American Freightways, Jason was involved in the acquisition and development of real estate for trucking terminals. Answering a calling to the court room, Jason left American Freightways in 2001 and opened an office in Springfield, Missouri, serving clients in Southwest Missouri, as well as statewide.

As an experienced practitioner of criminal and appellate law, Jason knows that every client deserves legal counsel that is tailored to his or her unique needs. That is why Jason provides personalized legal counsel to each of his clients. Especially in appellate practice, understanding every detail, every nuance of a case can be the difference between success and failure. Hired Attorney

Jason Coatney is the best attorney I have ever encountered. This man has SO much expertise, he's so well respected by his peers, & so dedicated to his work. He's completely straight-forward, honest, & he's a good man that will actually work for you with a clear passion & determination. He has your best interest in mind. If myself or my family EVER should need an attorney for anything, no matter what the issue may be - I will ALWAYS come back to him. I've never felt so confident in a court room as I did the day I had him standing next to me. You can trust him; he's NOT in it just for the money. This is his career, his passion, his success - I could go on & on! Jason is much more than you would expect; he is not your average lawyer at all! This man is professional & proper, he knows what he is doing, he does his job right, and he should be the prime example for other aspiring lawyers. His paralegal, Denise, is GREAT as well. If I could type more I would!

Hired Attorney

Jason used to work steel with my husband before becoming a lawyer, but even if they had never met each other, I feel Jason would still be just as likable, straight-forward, and down-to-earth. Jason has been there to represent me whenever necessary, and will be with me at the end of this month when I go before the judge yet again. He's worked with us patiently so we could rearrange our finances after our home was destroyed by last years' Leap Day tornado. THANX JASON!!!!

Worst attorney I'v ever seen. Will not communicate with his clients or even plead their case. I had proof I was not guilty of my charges and he would not even use my proof. All he wanted to do was plea a deal and move on. I would not wast my time with him. He cost me a lot of money and promised to fix it and now e want even talk to me.
