Graduating in 2020 with both a Juris Doctor and an MBA from the University of Montana, Gregory launched his legal career at a moment of unprecedented disruption. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, he founded Apex Legal as a solo practitioner, where he built his practice from the ground up while providing extensive pro bono and low-bono services to individuals and families navigating uncertain times. This early experience forged a practical, client-centered approach grounded in accessibility, efficiency, and real-world problem solving.
From 2021 through 2025, Gregory further refined his legal skills while working with two established firms, gaining broad experience and deepening his strategic and technical expertise. In 2025, he founded Cornerstone Legal with a clear vision: to deliver thoughtful, modern legal counsel built on a strong foundation of business insight, disciplined advocacy, and a genuine commitment to clients. His practice reflects both entrepreneurial drive and a belief that effective legal guidance should be clear, proactive, and grounded in trust.
Gregory’s longstanding interest in tax law ultimately shaped the focus of his practice. Recognizing that estate planning and administration sit at the intersection of tax strategy, family dynamics, and long-term legacy planning, he concentrated his work on estate planning, guardianships and conservatorships, probate, and trust administration. Cornerstone Legal was intentionally built around these core practice areas, allowing the firm to provide clients with cohesive, forward-looking guidance that protects assets, minimizes tax exposure, and brings clarity to complex transitions. The firm’s approach emphasizes precision, foresight, and practical solutions tailored to each client’s circumstances.
