I cannot recommend Dena Allen as a mediator. During our session, she referenced a photo my ex supposedly had of a garage sale sign in front of my house and questioned why I hadn’t given my ex half the proceeds. I explained that no such garage sale had ever occurred. Her response was, “I saw the picture.” When I asked if she had reviewed the metadata to verify the date and location of the photo, she admitted she had not. I offered to provide written statements from my neighbors confirming that no garage sale had taken place, but she just looked at me with visible disdain. It was clear she had already made a judgment based solely on a photo presented by my ex. Despite my attorney requesting the original photo, my ex never submitted it. It was proof that the meta-data couldn’t show when it taken or when. Nevertheless, the mediator chose to take it at face value, without requiring any verification. Mediators are expected to remain impartial and fact-driven. That was not the case here.
