Danny Smith has spent the last four decades fighting for injured and disabled people in Upstate South Carolina and has successfully handled thousands of social security disability and workers’ compensation claims. His practice emphasis also includes serious injury claims from auto accidents.
A 1974 graduate of the University of South Carolina Law School, Danny is admitted to the South Carolina Bar, U.S. District Court, Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He has served in leadership positions in the South Carolina Association of Justice and the Injured Workers’ Advocates. He is a past President of the Spartanburg County Bar Association, a member of the South Carolina Association of Justice, and Injured Workers’ Advocates. He has also been a charter member of The National Association of Social Security Claimants Representatives since 1979.
Danny is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been honored in the past by his peers by selection for Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America. He was recently voted "Best of the Best" by Best Lawyers in America in Workers’ Compensation – Claimants (injured workers) for 2018 in the Greenville/Spartanburg area.
Throughout his career, Danny has been active in the community, serving on the Spartanburg County Council and the Board of Spartanburg Regional Health Services District, where he was Chairman from 1997 through the end of his term.
