This attorney is part of a legal ecosystem that appears far more concerned with control and billing than justice or accountability. In my experience, he repeatedly advanced false narratives, ignored or misrepresented critical evidence, and seemed closely tied to therapy arrangements that only benefited his client — not the child. There were serious concerns about how mental health professionals were manipulated to present a predetermined outcome. Efforts to raise legitimate safety concerns were met with hostility, suppression, and legal maneuvering that felt retaliatory. This is not the work of someone seeking fair resolution — it felt like abuse of process disguised as advocacy. Watch your invoices. Question everything. And if you are confronting power with truth — especially in family court — understand that this may not be the advocate who will stand up for what’s right.
Working with Mr. McEwan was abysmal. He sent others to court in his steed. Overcharged for services never completed and was overtly ineffective. Mr. McEwan is not familiar with legal aspects such as protecting HIPAA, subpoena process, confidentiality… I could go on. Mr. McEwan was so ineffectual he didn’t hurt nor help my case and allowed me to find proper representation. This firm expects parents to just “jump through hoops” and follow the corruption of the family court system at all levels. It’s quite lucrative. Check your statements. If you find yourself in Family court, do your homework first and know what you’re up against. It’s not a fact finding process.
