After 18 months of going back and forth for custody for our 3 yr old son Tyler we now have him with family. Leslie fought for my husbands rights as a father while he was incarcerated helping us make sure he stayed with family which was not so easy as we are from California and our family is there. She gave solid legal advice and helped guide not only us but our family on how to get an "Interstate Compact" successfully completed and went above and beyond to help us not loose our child to the system. She never missed one court date which is more than I can say for my attorney who never responded to any of my emails or phone calls. Leslie talked a big talk in our meetings about what could be done but during mediation all that went out the window. All of a sudden, what she said we could do/get was no longer an option. Things that she initially said would work in my favor, she became totally against in mediation. She literally laid her head down in mediation and I was just discussing things with the mediator. She was not involved in negotiations or fighting for me. She does not know how to put a lien against property. When i found out she did not do this, she said she would handle. All she did was send the decree to the county. This is not how you do a lien. I had to pay another attorney to do it properly. There is far more. I feel she just wants a quick settlement with as little effort as possible. Attorneys and professionals roll their eyes when I mention I used Leslie Barrows due to what they have heard. Don’t trust the positive reviews because Jeff Sanford gave her 5 stars and that is her husband.
Review: I had an extremely disappointing experience with this attorney. She represented my husband and failed to fulfill her responsibilities. Not only did she neglect to carry out the necessary tasks, but she also consistently sent us exorbitant bills without any justification. We found ourselves constantly reminding her to complete even the simplest of tasks. It is important for others to be aware of this attorney's lack of professionalism and competence. I would strongly advise against seeking her services.
