If you’re looking for legal representation, avoid Richard Mark Harris at all costs. As a village attorney, his incompetence was on full display when he attempted to stop a lawful recording in a public building, falsely claimed the person was an "intruder," and then filed a completely bogus police report. When the police arrived, they had to educate him on basic constitutional rights—something he, as an attorney, should already know. If he can’t grasp the First Amendment, what other critical laws will he forget when handling your case? Hiring Harris could be a serious liability to your legal interests. Beyond his lack of legal knowledge, his aggressive and unprofessional demeanor proves he is not fit for public office. Port Jefferson deserves better. This man should resign before he does any more damage. Do not trust him with your legal matters.
