I used Mr. LaVita for a Co-op purchase and found him and his staff to be exceptionally helpful, courteous and with an "at your service" attitude. I had numerous issues with both the seller and the co-op board during the purchase and Mr. LaVita and his staff made sure everything was taken care of for me. His office manager Maria is one of the most exceptional professionals I have ever met. I would highly recommend Mr. LaVita and his staff without any reservation.

This moron handled the closing on a condo that I bought. He never sent the closing packet to the bank. I never got any kind of a mortgage statement and when I called the bank, they said my mortgage didn't exist! That caused all sorts of issues. Months later LaVita's office called and had some half assed excuse as to why the packet never made it to the bank. I had to leave work, go to his office and resign my entire mortgage packet! I left his office and got home and received a call from his office that he left out a few pages and I had to go back. The man is incompetent!!!
He has been dealing with the estate of a deceased relative for over three years and is still working on it. Doesn’t reply to emails. Appalling.
RUN !!!! I am a nice , easy going person. He takes your money and then you have to literally BEG him to do his job. He doesnt return your calls. After over a year of trying to be patient with him I had enough. He infuriated me to the point that I had to threaten to call the BAR association. Well that finally got his butt moving. I have never despised somebody so much in my life.
We paid Mr. LaVita $365 to issue a Mechanic's Lien for unpaid services our company rendered. Mr. LaVita cashed the check, and never provided the service we paid for. After telephoning him over 5 times and twice being promised a refund by him, he still had not sent our money back to us. STAY AWAY FROM THIS LAWYER...HE WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NOT PROVIDE THE SERVICES YOU PAID FOR.
Very unprofessional, does not keep word after saying he will do something and he never does. Never returns phone calls or emails. I would not recommend him to anyone. If anything, he should get is credentials pulled.
Called many times, left messages and no one ever called back.
