About Sam Collin

Samuel Collin brings a grounded, people-first perspective to family law, shaped by both his upbringing and his own life experience. With close relatives who served as stenographers for the United Nations and New York federal judges, he grew up hearing about the courts and the importance of the legal process. Experiencing his parents’ divorce firsthand made the work personal and showed him how the right attorney can change outcomes for an entire family. Sam’s style is collaborative and tailored: he takes time to learn what matters most to each client and looks for the most constructive path forward. He often recommends mediation or other alternatives to litigation when they fit the situation, and he prioritizes plain-English explanations so clients can make confident decisions. Sam studied acting at the British American Drama Academy in London and later performed in more than ten college productions, experiences that translate naturally into calm advocacy. He earned his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 2009 and started in the Domestic Violence Bureau at the Kings County DA’s Office, then continued serving the community through volunteer tax-prep work with Grow Brooklyn.
