About Olivia Perras Thompson

Olivia was born in Fairbanks, Alaska and grew up throughout Alaska. She spent most weekends salmon and halibut fishing with her family on Prince William Sound, Resurrection Bay, and the Gulf of Alaska. After she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Alaska Anchorage, she went on to work in victim advocacy, working with victims of sexual assault in Anchorage, Alaska. After relocating to Hawaii, she continued working in victim advocacy, supporting members and dependents of the Navy and Air Force experiencing domestic violence and child abuse at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. Her interest in maritime law comes from being part of communities with strong ties to maritime industries. Olivia graduated cum laude from Roger Williams School of Law in 2020 and earned a Master of Marine Affairs as part of a joint degree program with the University of Rhode Island. While in law school she was a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Catherine Easter in the Superior Court of Alaska, a Sea Grant Law Fellow, and volunteered with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. She also received the CALI Award for Excellence for Admiralty Law and Negotiating Environmental Settlements. After graduating law school, she worked as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Erin Marston in the Superior Court of Alaska. Olivia was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 2020, the Hawaii State Bar in 2021, and the U.S. District Court Western District of Washington in 2022. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and camping.
