My attorney was Laura Blair-Gano. She really worked hard to help me get what I needed to get my feet off the ground, after having been in a financially abusive relationship for 20 years. My issue is with the firm and Ms. Redinger. I was trying to reconcile my itemized statements and had a few questions, like what the random "dissolution of marriage" fees @ roughly $5k a piece were about. Also, it appeared my $5k retainer was never applied. When I called to pay another $5k (at this point I had paid the firm a total of $15k), I was passed to Denise. I had explained my previous agreement with Laura. I told her I could pay the remaining balance but I needed clarification regarding some charges and where my retainer had been applied. She told me to call my lender to try to refinance, if I was struggling with $. The next day, I opened my email to discover her firm filed a lien in the amount of $11,195 against my home, 2 days after I received my first statement post divorce.
