About Daniel Maldonado

Daniel Maldonado is a Partner in the Phoenix office of Resnick & Louis, P.C. and has extensive litigation experience in insurance coverage, bad faith, employment, insurance defense, construction defect, bodily injury defense, design professionals, medical malpractice, A&E, general liability, auto liability, premises liability, and dram shop liability. Daniel’s experience includes the analysis and litigation of complex insurance coverage issues, including EPLI and Personal Injury/Advertising Injury issues involving both personal lines and commercial lines. His practice also involves representing insurance companies in defense of complex bad faith claims.

Daniel also has significant experience in handling the investigation and litigation of complex employment law matters. Daniel was an author of the employment chapter of the Arizona Tort Law Handbook. He represented both private and public sector clients regarding Title IX (civil rights), Title VII, The Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age and Employment Discrimination Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, Section 1983 claims, and the Arizona Civil Rights Act. Daniel also developed for various firm clients complete employment programs including the development of employer specific employee manuals, drug testing policies and other transactional employment services.

Prior to graduating from law school, Daniel was the Associate Managing Editor for the Arizona State University Law Journal and the Notes and Comments Editor for the Jurimetrics: Journal of Law, Science and Technology. Daniel has published various legal treatises and law review articles. Since 2003, he has been an author/co-editor of Couch on Insurance 3rd, which is a multi-volume treatise on insurance law published by Thompson Reuters. He has been a speaker/presenter at various employment law and insurance law conferences throughout the country.

Daniel enjoys reading literary works, attending Broadway plays, traveling internationally (including his native Puerto Rico), attending museums, and cooking exotic and strange dishes. He is the author of the Daniel Mendoza Thrillers Series and the Chambers Lane Series. In 2020, his first legal thriller, May It Please The Court, made the Short List Nomination for the Drunken Druids International Book Awards.

Daniel is licensed to practice law in the states of Arizona and Nevada.
