About Amanda Bynum

Amanda practices criminal defense, with a 14-year legal career enriched by roles in private practice, public defense, and legal education. As a trial attorney, she recognized her innate ability to defend and educate, gaining a reputation as an authority on DUI defense, trial techniques, legal ethics, and professionalism.

Transitioning her courtroom skills to the classroom, Amanda took on the role of a law professor at the University of Arizona College of Law for several years. First, she led the Criminal Defense Clinic in conjunction with her role as Training Director of the Pima County Public Defender’s Office and part-time taught Trial Advocacy before fully immersing herself in academia as a full-time law professor and administrator. During this time, she designed courses to equip future attorneys for success—whether in law school, during the bar exam, in the courtroom, or the professional arena.

Her contributions to the legal community extend beyond education. Amanda is an alumna of the State Bar of Arizona’s Bar Leadership Institute. She served on the State Bar Member Assistance Program Taskforce and the State Bar Professionalism Task Force, influencing the professionalism course for new lawyers in Arizona.

Amanda’s affiliations include the National College of DUI Defense, DUI Defense Lawyers Association, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice.
