After joining Dunlap & Shipman in 2004, David moved from Tallahassee to South Walton County to help the firm start the Santa Rosa Beach office which has grown from one to ten lawyers since 2005. David’s primary focus is commercial litigation and transactions, community association law, construction litigation, insurance claims and coverage disputes and land planning and development. David became a shareholder in 2010 and is grateful for the opportunity to help lead a thriving law practice and serve the needs of its clients.
After obtaining his degree in Criminology, David attended the Florida State University College of Law and graduated in 2004 with honors.
David is a member of the Florida Bar, the Walton County Bar Association, the First Judicial Circuit’s Bench and Bar Professionalism Committee and the Okaloosa and Walton Professionalism Panel. David has served on the First Judicial Circuit’s Grievance Committee and been actively involved in the Walton Education Foundation’s mentoring program. David served for three years as a board member for the Seaside School and continues to be actively involved in its activities.
David lives in Point Washington, FL with his wife, JuJu, and three children, Harper, Katie, and Granger, and attends the Point Washington United Methodist Church where he serves as a Trustee. He is a proud Florida State Seminole and enjoys as much beach, golf, and family time as possible, while promoting the interests of Dunlap & Shipman’s clients and the continued development of the Firm.
