When I was prosecuted, I sought advice from other lawyers, learning I should have done things like marriage counseling and submitting character references before prosecution, which Riccardo never advised. Despite my growing doubts, I didn't switch lawyers to save money, fearing more expenses and complications. Riccardo was unprofessional, making excuses, and not taking responsibility. When I posted a negative review, he threatened to reveal my information unless I removed it. His behavior showed a lack of reliability, poor character, emotional instability, and no empathy. You never know what he's doing, and if you ask too many questions, he gets angry. You can ask questions, but he'll only give brief answers and won't actively discuss your case or explain his actions. In November, I hired Riccardo as my lawyer based on his positive online reviews and a consultation where he assured me of a 99% chance of winning my case. Initially, he was patient, but after payment, his communication ceased. He failed to inform me of necessary actions, like writing a character letter and resume, which could have helped my case. Please do not go with Patrick Valencia for any juvenile cases. My child pleaded guilty to something that never occurred because Patrick said it would be the best way to stay out of jail. It was a nightmare and wrong. We lived in a different county but the case didn’t get transferred to our county until sentencing which is improper. To make it worse the attorney barely explained or communicated with us he actually didn’t show up to one of his court hearings. I think he uses an answering service and doesn’t have a real office… we never met him until our first court hearing. We already paid him thousands of dollars so hiring a different attorney was not an option for us. Most importantly he thought my child committed the crime. He wouldn’t even allow him to plea no contest, literally walking into court he said it has to be a guilty plea per the judge. My biggest life regret was hiring him.
