Successfully obtained a writ of habeas corpus ordering client's release from civil detention after fifty-four months without process.
· Representing individual client with arrest record in proceedings to seal arrest record on the basis of factual innocence.
· Represented social science organizations as amici in support of the plaintiffs in Perry v. Schwarzenegger, the litigation challenging California Proposition 8's ban on same-sex marriage. Filed amicus briefs at the conclusion of trial in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, as well as with the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
· Represented indigent defendant in automotive tort litigation in Alameda County Superior Court. As lead counsel, successfully obtained dismissal of complaint.
