Sergio Feria is a graduate of Whittier College (1979) and the University of San Diego, School of Law (1982). Mr. Feria also attended the Universidad Ibero Americana in Mexico City, Mexico. He was admitted to the California Bar in December 1982. He is the owner of the Law Offices of Sergio Feria, A Professional Corporation. He began his legal career in 1982 in Los Angeles with Tapia & Meastas, a civil law and criminal law litigation and trial law firm. Mr. Feria is a fluent Spanish speaker, reader, and writer.
In 1986, Mr. Feria started his law firm, The Law Offices of Sergio Feria, A Professional Corporation. His statewide practice emphasizes the trial, arbitration, mediation, and resolution of legal disputes arising from accidents resulting in serious personal injury and wrongful death, lawyer malpractice, insurance company failure to defend or pay insurance benefits, real estate litigation and transactions, employment law, elder abuse, and business litigation.
Mr. Feria is a member of the State Bar of California, the San Diego County Bar Association, the Lawyers Club of San Diego, the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, and San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association. Mr. Feria has served as Judge Pro Tem for the San Diego County Courts, on the Board of Directors of the San Diego Trial Lawyers Association (now known as Consumer Attorneys of San Diego), on the Board of Visitors of the University of San Diego School of Law, as President of San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association, and as a Member of the Board of California Rural Legal Assistance. For the last two years, Mr. Feria has served as Treasurer of San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association.
Mr. Feria served on the Charter Review Committee for the City of Chula Vista. Until 2008, Mr. Feria served as a member of the Proposition BB Citizen Oversight Committee for the Sweetwater Union High School District, overseeing the spending, budgeting, and construction of a $300 million expenditure for improvement of public school facilities in the Sweetwater School District Civil Associations: Mr. Feria has served as a panelist on various legal matters, legal topics, and legal issues at the San Diego County Bar Association, California Western School of Law, University of San Diego School of Law, La Raza Lawyers Association, Miramar College, and Southwestern College.
