Maria (Mia) Severson is a seasoned trial attorney with over 15 years of experience in both private and public practice. Her unique legal skills encompass diverse areas, including complex litigation matters such as fraud, unfair business practices, pension and labor disputes, land use, and environmental law, often involving damages exceeding $100 million. Before co-founding Aguirre & Severson LLP, Mia served as Chief Deputy City Attorney for San Diego, where she personally managed major cases and supervised city-wide litigation efforts. Mia is an active member of prominent legal organizations including the Los Angeles and San Diego County Bar Associations, and the National Association of Women Business Owners. She also serves on the Judicial Evaluation Committee of the San Diego Bar Association and is involved with the San Diego Business Trial Lawyers. Her teaching contributions include conducting seminars, such as on Credit Derivatives for the San Diego County Bar Association in 2009.
