Jon S. Brick joined the firm in 1992, and specializes in complex civil litigation, including personal injury, product defect, bad faith, insurance coverage, construction defect, and general business disputes. He has achieved the highest rating for legal ability in Martindale-Hubbell. Previously, Mr. Brick was associated with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where he developed an extensive litigation background working with bad faith, accountant malpractice, and securities litigation, as well as contract disputes. Mr. Brick is a native San Diegan, and graduated from the University of San Diego in 1981 with a bachelor of arts in political science. Mr. Brick attended law school at the Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as a topics editor for the Georgetown Law Journal. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1985, and has appeared in numerous state court proceedings, including arguing before the Fourth District Court of Appeal and federal court matters at both the District Court and Ninth District Court of Appeal levels. Mr. Brick is admitted in all of the courts of the State of California, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Central, and Eastern Districts of California, and the Third and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeal. Mr. Brick has extensive experience handling a variety of cases for both plaintiffs and defendants, from discovery through jury and non-jury trials, and appeal. Mr. Brick also counsels business clients concerning their ongoing business activities and strategies to avoid lawsuits. In addition, Mr. Brick serves as a judge pro tem in the Small Claims division of the San Diego Superior Court.
