Andrew R. McCloskey is a founding partner of McCloskey, Waring & Waisman LLP. Prior to forming his own firm with his longtime colleagues John L. Riedl and Kathy P. Waring, Mr. McCloskey practiced for many years as an associate with Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP (now known as McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP) and as a partner at Duane Morris LLP. Throughout his career, Mr. McCloskey has handled numerous complex insurance coverage issues and claims, including litigated and non-litigated matters involving environmental, asbestos nonproducts, construction delay, construction defect, personal injury, advertising injury, bad faith defense and other complex issues.
Mr. McCloskey has represented numerous insurance company clients both as regional and national counsel on a variety of complex matters. He has represented clients in matters throughout the country, including litigated matters in California, Nevada, Florida and Texas. He has significant experience defending insurance bad faith claims, including numerous appearances before the California Court of Appeals. Mr. McCloskey is a frequent speaker on coverage-related topics, including presentations sponsored by the State Bar of California and the State Bar of Nevada.
Mr. McCloskey received his B.S. (1992) from the University of Connecticut and his J.D. (1995, cum laude) from the University of San Diego. Mr. McCloskey is a member of the California and Nevada bars.
