Kyle Simpson is a seasoned trial attorney with more than two decades of courtroom experience and a reputation for being a dedicated advocate for his clients. As a trial attorney, he has tried well over 100 jury trials to verdict and defended clients in some of the most challenging criminal matters in Texas and beyond.
Kyle began his career as a prosecutor with the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, where he handled hundreds of criminal cases and tried more than fifty jury trials. That early experience honed his ability to evaluate case strength, manage complex litigation, and fight for fair outcomes.
In private practice, Kyle’s work is in criminal representation. He has defended individuals facing serious charges at all levels across the State of Texas. Known for his meticulous preparation and persuasive advocacy, he is equally adept at negotiating with prosecutors to minimize damage or arguing persuasively to a jury for acquittal.
Beyond the courtroom, Kyle is recognized as a published author in the area of Driving While Intoxicated offenses. Since 2009, he has served as co-author of the Texas DWI Law and Practice Handbook, part of the Texas Practice Series published by Thomson Reuters. This authoritative resource for attorneys and judges keeps him at the forefront of evolving case law and statutory changes, knowledge he brings directly to his clients’ cases. He has also been named to Thomson Reuters' list of Super Lawyers in Texas for DWI, published by Texas Monthly. The list recognizes the top 5% of lawyers in the Lone Star State.
Kyle earned his Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from the University of North Texas. He is licensed to practice law in Texas, Utah, New Mexico, and South Dakota.
