Russ Sablatura has been practicing law in Texas for more than 20 years with special emphasis on criminal cases, personal injury claims, and family law matters. A lifelong Texan, Mr. Sablatura graduated from Round Rock High School, received a Business degree from the University of Texas at Austin and graduated from St. Mary’s Law School in San Antonio. He opened his own practice shortly after moving back to Austin in 1994 and has focused his representation on the Central Texas area while traveling across the State when the situation demands. Mr. Sablatura currently resides in Austin and is the proud father of two amazing girls. He enjoys hunting and fishing and is a proud Longhorn supporter.

As a Texas trial lawyer, Mr. Sablatura tries criminal cases all over the state of Texas including Travis, Williamson, Hays and Bastrop counties. In recent years, Mr. Sablatura has been the lead defense counsel on cases that gained local and national media attention. Such cases include defending a member of the Aryan Brotherhood charged with attempted murder, a Round Rock mom accused of stealing money from the PTA fund, a man accused of killing one person when he drove his truck through an HEB store and an eight time DWI offender whose case demonstrated the significant problems in today’s judicial system. With years of extensive trial experience, Mr. Sablatura not only possesses a keen grasp of the criminal legal system but prides himself on being an aggressive advocate for his clients. His skillful aggressiveness has also been demonstrated in the many situations where Mr. Sablatura has been able to negotiate case resolutions, ultimately avoiding trial when trial was not in a client’s best interest. However, when trial appears inevitable, Mr. Sablatura aggressively defends his clients whether before Judge or Jury.

Three letters that no one ever wants to have to deal with on a personal level. Child Protective Services cases are an area of particular interest to Mr. Sablatura. These cases are all about listening. Mr. Sablatura listens to his client, he listens to the investigators, and he listens to those that matter the most, the children. In doing so he gains the insight that is necessary to address the concerns of C.P.S. Ultimately, the goal is to get the family back together and get C.P.S. out of the picture. Sometimes that is easier said than done but Mr. Sablatura is committed to the families he represents no matter how long it takes to achieve success.
