Don't accept less and for sure don't hire your lawyer (or doctor or other professional) based on price. While arrogant & somewhat condescending, a great attorney. Not at all cheap, but never nickel & dimed us and I was constantly in contact with him regarding our non-traditional child custody case. He was very transparent in that his focus was in the best interest of the child. He knowledgably guided and swayed us from making brash decisions which could have caused severe anguish to our child and cost substantial amounts of money. In the end, I have and will continue to recommend Felix Rippy.
I worked in the Courthouse when I hired Felix Rippy, and my elected boss did the same...when folks in the know hire a Williamson County lawyer, particularly folks in the Courthouse, they hire Mr. Rippy.
I retained his services a number of years ago. It turned out to be a very negative experience. He was arrogant, condescending and poorly responsive. When I called him out on his slow response, he threatened me. He told me I would be out the retainer money and he would see to it that no other attorney in Williamson County would take my case! Complete scum.
Not only did this man insult us and degrade us (after it was too late to change lawyers with all of our money in his hands), he gave privileged information to the other side and did not take the actions he promised us he would (like deposing the other side and exposing their lies). This man is the reason people hate lawyers.
Disciplinary history there-I would find another lawyer instead. Poor service as well, not worth the money.
