About Susan Connors

Susan Connors is an experienced litigator with areas of practice focused primarily in the fields of medical malpractice and personal injury. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey State Courts, the Federal District Court of New Jersey and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Susan has successfully tried and resolved numerous complex and significant medical malpractice and personal injury cases, including claims relating to delayed cancer diagnosis, emergency medicine (ER), stroke/brain hemorrhage, decubitus ulcers, ophthalmologic care, misdiagnosis of choroidal melanoma, cellulitis (infection) resulting in foot/leg amputation, surgical errors including laser ablation and nerve injury, DVT/blood clots in post-Achilles tear, surgical errors, dental malpractice and wrongful birth. She has also represented the aged and infirm in cases involving sub-standard nursing home/institutional care on behalf of the developmentally disabled as well as claims involving lack of informed consent to treatment.

Recently, Susan obtained a $550,000 verdict in Morris County Superior Court involving the failure of an orthopedist to properly diagnose a developing DVT that resulted in emergency stenting of the venous system. She and Bruce Nagel tried and received $1.33 million verdict, the largest dental malpractice award in Morris County, involving claims of excessive drilling and nerve injury in a tooth extraction. They were also awarded $4.25 million verdict in a radiologic malpractice case involving the failure to diagnose parotid gland tumor in a 64 year-old New Jersey schoolteacher. Susan participated in the successful partial resolution of a $5.1 million award against a hospital and various medical providers involving a 53 year-old female who suffered brain injury for failure to perform a brain CT in the emergency room. She has settled numerous cases relating to a wide array of medical procedures and treatments involving catastrophic injuries requiring multi-discipline specialists in expert testimony. She has successfully litigated, tried and and settled cases totaling over $35 million within the past five years.

Susan is a member of the Medical Malpractice Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association. She is a lecturer on recent developments in medical malpractice at the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education Annual Tort Law Conference. Susan is a graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law where she was a director/writer for the Moot Court Advocacy Program. She also served as a judicial intern to Honorable Alfred J. Lechner, Jr., U.S. District Court, and was a law clerk for the Honorable Frederick C. Kentz, Jr. in the Superior Court, Chancery, Equity Division, in Union County. She graduated from Seton Hall University where she earned Cum Laude distinction and served on the University Senate and Political Science Honor Society.
