In 1986 Carey was licensed to practice law in the state of New Jersey. She concentrated on real estate law during the early years of her 30-year career. However, for the past ten years she has focused her practice exclusively on representing victims in civil matters and personal injury claims.
In 2016, based on her client satisfaction rating, Carey was selected as a “Top 10 Female Attorney” by the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys.

Carey was born in Elizabeth and raised in Carteret, New Jersey. In high school, she was a member of the National Honor Society and captain of her school’s cheerleading squad. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania and was a member of the university’s dance club. In 1983 she attended the University of Bridgeport School of Law — now Quinnipiac University School of Law — where she was a member of the international legal honor society of Phi Delta Phi.
Carey resides in Avon By The Sea with her husband and French bulldog. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading, traveling and family.
