At this point, I am amazed that this level of incompetence is legally allowable for this person to still practice law. There has to be some boundaries set for the lack of work generated while having the title of a lawyer or attorney take every review that is on this page and add to it for my case I won’t waste your time talking about Miss deadlines missed emails. Nothing returned to the other side dates missed information file incorrectly which now has my child support payments hundreds of dollars per month higher than they should be, the lack of accountability in my case is truly criminal that someone can still practice law yet do the job that was done and clearly by the other reviews here and on yelp, there has to be something that can be done for people that are taking peoples money this way

Untrustworthy, unprofessional and predatory. Her licensed needs revoked and fees need returned. Showing to court looking disheveled and unprepared, regularly. Consistently overpromisimg and significantly under delivering. And misses meetings she sets herself. Her lack of professionalism is only out-wrighed by her incompetence. Return fees to myself and these other poor people. Absolutely no diligence in professional work, especially involving children, leaves this unacceptable and especially heinous. You called it work, I'm calling it a crime! Shame in you Susan. I trusted you, and clearly, so did others. You can't outrun being a crappy human. It will catch up to you.

I am submitting this formal complaint regarding the professional conduct and handling of my legal matter by attorney Susan Werner Scofield, whom I retained in the fall of 2023 for representation in a property dispute. Over the past two years, Ms. Scofield has demonstrated a pattern of inadequate communication, a lack of diligence, and failure to properly manage or advance my case. Below is a summary of the issues: Excessive Delay: Despite being retained in 2023 and having a hearing in April 2024, my case remains unresolved with no meaningful progress or clear explanation for the ongoing delay. Poor and Inconsistent Communication: I have made multiple attempts to contact Ms. Scofield through phone messages, emails, and texts. My inquiries have frequently gone unanswered or received delayed, minimal responses. This has left me without necessary information about the status of my case. I would never recommend Susan to anyone. Extremely poor communication. She did very little work on our case, promised a refund and then disappeared. I will be filing a grievance with the AGC of Maryland and a fee dispute with the MSBA. I don't think there's enough evidence to convince anyone that this person is actually a lawyer.

Terrible representation. Zero communication, lack of meeting deadlines. Horrible horrible horrible attorney. She needs her license revoked immediately. She will take your money and ruin your case. Do NOT hire susan.

Trusted and hired her Nov 2023 for a divorce. It is now march 2025 and little progress has been made. Susie has a habit of over promising and under delivering in regards to her service. A full host of issues ranging from overpriced Retainer fees not reflecting her quality of service, to Susie showing up 30+ mins late to court with mix matched shoes. Her professionalism was not showcased as her abiltity to keep her basic word proved impossible. The explanations given to justify not filing important documents is unacceptable and unprofessional. Disorganized and avoidant is how I would describe her work ethic for my case. I Do Not recommend.
