Have you consulted or hired this lawyer?
Leave a review about your experience with this lawyer.I-77 divided our farm in 1975, and half of it was without access to a highway. SCDOT provided access through a neighbor's property. A developer contacted me in Oct., 2023 about relocating our access to allow for a 7 Eleven plaza. We gave tentative approval to the relocation in Nov., 2023. In June, 2024, a deputy appeared at my door serving me a Petition to close the state road that was my access. In July, 2024, Mr. Dan Ballou was recommended to me and I employed his services. After four months of "consultations" ( at $450 an hour) I was presented with a Non- Exclusive Access Easement Agreement that contained so many "special conditions" that my access was under the COMPLETE control of the landowner. I was giving up a state maintained road for a controlled easement. I became very active in this simple case and pressed Dan for a different settlement. He became cooperative, and with the help of the original developer a settlement, very similar to the Nov., 2023 plan, was signed
Mr. Ballou falls into the class of typical attorneys,at Best. Our impression was that his only interest was in billable hours rather than aggressively pursuing our case, which is what we hired him for.
