Grandparents, Father: A few years ago, I was the Attorney for the Child for a young boy whose grandfather was seeking custody of him. Since the grandfather did not already have any order in his favor, he was not entitled to free counsel, which he needed. I knew this man would suffer without legal counsel and I favored my 6 year-old client going to live with him. Sandra was willing to step up to the plate and take on the representation of the grandfather, much to my absolute joy. Although Sandra is a seasoned pro bono attorney, this case required so much work, I almost felt guilty requesting her involvement. After at least 18 months of many court appearances, discovery and procedural delays, we were all able to reach a very reasonable settlement for the grandfather, the mother and the young boy.
