Long active in the organized Bar, he is a Past President of the Monroe County Bar Association. He was Secretary of the New York State Bar Association and has served for many years in its House of Delegates representing the 7th Judicial District. He served on NYSBA's Executive Committee for 6 years. He chaired the NYSBA's President's Committee on Access to Justice and was a member of that association's Special Committee on Public Trust and Confidence in the Judicial System. He is a Director of the New York Bar Foundation and former President of the Monroe County Bar Foundation.
