Hired Attorney

Melissa Tannery is one of the best trust and estate litigators you will find. Consider yourself fortunate if she is advocating for you. She is thorough, sharp and she cared about my case from the first call to the final email. I was warehoused by a bank who was appointed against my wishes as my trustee. The bank’s behavior was lazy, condescending and did not represent my best interests. When I discovered a half million dollar bookkeeping error and a pattern of insufficient financial controls, Melissa coupled this with other fiduciary misbehavior to compel the bank to resign as trustee. Melissa got the matter corrected and reimbursement for my legal fees and over billing. Most importantly, she negotiated a non-judicial settlement agreement that eliminated a burdensome requirement of the trust. The agreement removed antagonistic control over the trust by two relatives who treated me as an adversary and caused years of financial under-performance, legal expenses and stress.
