About Andrea Rowse Stiles

Andrea Stiles is a partner with the firm of Batzli Stiles Butler PC, where her practice centers on all aspects of family law. Her philosophy is that family law matters should be resolved respectfully, fairly and efficiently. The best interests of children is a focal point for settlement and the family's resources should be allocated to meet the reasonable needs of the parties and children.

Ms. Stiles has been a family law attorney for nearly 30 years and was recognized by her peers as Best Lawyers' 2012 Richmond Family Lawyer of the Year. She has been listed in the Virginia Business Legal Elite every year since 2000. Ms. Stiles has been selected as one of the top 25 female attorneys in Virginia by Super Lawyers every year since 2007. In 2012 she was named to Top 50 Women Super Lawyers and Top 50 Richmond area Super Lawyers. Virginia Lawyers Weekly named Ms. Stiles as one of the most Influential Women in Virginia. In addition, Ms. Stiles is a past Chair of the Board of Governors for the Virginia Family Law Section of the Virginia State Bar and is an elected Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. She holds Martindale-Hubbell's highest Premier Attorney AV rating and is listed in The Best Lawyers In America.

A 1986 graduate of the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond, Ms. Stiles was a member of the University of Richmond Law Review and authored "Spoliation: Civil Liability for Destructing Evidence." She received the Best Advocate Award in the 1984 Carrico Moot Court Competition. She also received the Best Advocate Award and the Best Brief Award in the 1984 Barnett Moot Court competition and was selected to participate in the 1985 National Moot Court Competition. She graduated with honors from the University of Florida in 1983. Fellow: American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers; John Marshall Inn of Court.

Hired Attorney

Andrea Stiles was there for me during one of the most difficult periods of my life. Her compassion, professionalism, excellent knowledge of the law, all came together For me in my time of greatest need. I had two young children at that time. While I didn’t want to obtain sole custody, the Circumstances at the time gave me no choice. The final result was that I, the father, Obtained sole custody, in Virginia, from the mother. There is no one better than Andrea Stiles for family law.

Andrea Stiles makes me smile. She is not just brilliant in the law, she is artful. She senses psychological dynamics in the courtroom in a masterful way, knowing when to speak, when to keep quiet, when to "strike" with a point of law or a point of evidence. The fact that she has a remarkable mind which holds onto the facts of a case literally forever, and her vast and accurate knowledge of the law define her, but do not tell the whole story. What she has is something that cannot be learned.
