Matthew Kapuscinski is an associate and member of the Litigation practice group.
Matt takes the time to understand his client’s unique needs and build a personal relationship based on mutual trust. He works with clients to define their priorities, set realistic goals, and develop a strategy that minimizes risks, protects the client’s interests, and achieves objectives. He strives to clearly explain his recommendations and suggested course of action. Matt believes that hard work, preparation, and identification of key legal issues and themes are necessary to develop a winning strategy.
Prior to joining the firm, Matt worked as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Fairfax County for four years prosecuting felony and misdemeanor cases, including manslaughter, rape, robbery, drug possession and distribution, firearm, financial fraud, theft and traffic offenses, in the General District, Juvenile and Domestic Relations, and Fairfax County Circuit Courts. He served as lead counsel in over 15 jury trials and in hundreds of bench trials during his tenure as a prosecutor. Working in the courtroom each day, he demonstrated his ability to manage a large caseload and exercise good judgment while evaluating the merits of criminal cases and negotiating plea agreements with opposing counsel.
